What To Do For Valentines Day: Dinner at Home

Are you looking for what to do for Valentines Day?  Does your budget hinder what you want to do.  Why not stay home and have dinner at home instead.

Last year, I was racking my brain on what to do for valentines day and it was really hard.  I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because my husband and I don’t really make a big deal  about celebrating Valentines Day.

I figured I had to make dinner anyways, so why not have a fancy dinner.

I got out all of our nice china, table cloths, napkins and just made the table look pretty and we enjoyed a candlelight dinner in.  This was a perfect Valentines day treat for kids too!  They were ecstatic!  They loved every moment! “Pinky out” as we would say during fine dining.

This didn’t break my budget either, I just used what I had on hand.   I cooked a 5 course meal and now it’s become a tradition and the one Valentines day treat for kids to look forward too..

If you still want to have an evening out, save by using Goldstar Events.  You can get half-price tickets to the best events, theater  music, museums and sports.  Check to see if your city is included.

  1. When our youngest was about 3 or 4 (he is now 9) my hubby said, “You know I have always wanted to watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and eat candy during the whole movie.” So I said, “Why don’t we start doing that on Valentine’s Day?” We have done it every year and the kids look forward to it. Yes, my hubby loves candy.
